Anointed of God

For those escaping religion desiring to know the presence of God.

I was wondering how to prepare for May 3 (Sacramento) and thought that this was a good place to start. Carol Brown

In I Tim 2:1-6 we are exhorted to pray for ALL men every where. To intercede and GIVE THANKS (now that’s something to meditate on). We are specifically asked to pray for kings and all those in authority.

WHY? That we may live a quite and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. Also, in vs4 Paul stated, “who will have ALL men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

VS8 “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”
Wrath in the Strongs is 3709 and means desire (as a reaching forth or excitement of the mind) i.e. violent passion (ire, or justifiable abhorrence; by impl, punishment, anger, indignation, wrath.

These are very troubling times and if we walk in the flesh we will be given over to our fleshly emotions and respond in a way that is DISPLEASING to God. How many of us have reacted to the news (constant negative news) with wrath against someone? We need to remember that the weapons of our warfare are NOT carnal. II Cor. 10. I just noticed in vs7 of this chapter that Paul asks the Corinthians “Do ye look on things after the outward appearance?” We know that God looks on the heart.

Eph. 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Matt. 5:14-16 “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Vs15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Vs16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

We are to live that others may see and glorify HIM, the true light that lighteth every man. John 1:1-9
Romans 8 tells us that we are to walk after the SPIRIT and NOT after the FLESH. Read John 17. We did this in ministers class and found that the will of our Lord was that we might be one with Him. That we might have fellowship with the Father and that we might have His glory revealed to and through us.

Read I Tim. 6:6-21 (in other translations as well). Vs6 “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” Are we content to live a godly life or are we constantly searching for other things to fulfill are lives? Vs11 “But thou, O man of God, flee these things (the love of money); and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.” Then he goes on to tell Timothy to “Fight the good fight of faith and to lay hold on eternal life”. It is a daily fight (spiritual warfare) to do these things but we have the life of Christ with in us and he wrought the victory. Vs 14 “That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. vs15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;” In time, the whole world will know who is the only true and living God for ALL the earth shall be filled with His glory.

In Vs 18 of I Tim 6 Paul states that we are to do good and be rich in GOOD WORKS (gold, silver, precious stones), ready to distribute, willing to communicate. To communicate made me think of how we are to “know it to share it”. In love of course for love covers a multitude of sins. Prov. 10”12

Hope Taylor recently gave us Dan. 2:20-23. It is God which worketh and changes times and seasons, sets up one and puts down another but He works through a people. That people MUST have a relationship with Him through the word and prayer. We MUST get out of the city of me and allow Him to work through us and to change us to be more like Him. He desires for a man to stand in the gap. Is. 59:16-20. As Dutch Sheets taught us so well, we are His representers here on earth. Who am I representing in my life?

Let us ARISE and go forth and do. As Pastor Pat has been teaching us, this is a CALL to ACTION. Matt. 17:20 talks about having faith as a grain of mustard seed and moving mountains.

Back to I Tim. 6:8 “without wrath and doubting”. Doubting in the strongs is 1261 and comes from 1260 which means “discussion, dispute, doubtful (ing), imagination, reasoning, thought. We can talk, reason, debate and think all we want but what we really need to be doing is spending time with Him. Seeking His will in these matters (ch 6:3). Praying for our leaders that they might be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. Selah
